IML LAUNCHES VIRTUAL MEETING
SOLUTION
Cost and time savings with greater shareholder engagement
NEW YORK, July 7, 2010 – IML, the meeting
technology division of Computershare Limited (ASX: CPU), today
announced the launch of its virtual meeting solution. With this
solution, public companies can offer investors a convenient, simple
and secure way to participate in annual and special meetings,
including voting, live video and audio, and the ability to ask
questions and participate in surveys without having to be on site
for live meetings.
“Many people already prefer the convenience and economy of
Web-based meetings,” said Jay McHale, President, Computershare
Equity Services. “Our virtual meeting solution allows an
investor to participate in all the same ways as someone at a live
meeting. The only difference for the investor is that they are not
faced with the time, cost and aggravation of travel.”
The virtual meeting solution will be an important tool for
public companies looking to reduce costs associated with investor
events while trying to increase the quality and scope of their
shareholder outreach.
Computershare’s IML virtual meeting solution provides
shareholders the ability to view public companies’ annual meetings
live and cast their proxy votes in real time without physically
attending. The meeting site, which can be accessed through any
Flash-enabled Web browser, was produced by Computershare to meet
clients’ needs for offsite access to annual meetings. Public
companies can determine the level of access and options given to
each meeting attendee.
With Computershare’s leadership position as a transfer agent and
registrar, the virtual meeting solution will be supported by some
of the most experienced shareholder meeting experts in the
industry.
