Electronic Silent Auction Systems and Software|IML Event Technology
Silent auctions attract attendees who compassionately donate to
worthy causes every year. And each year event planners must
successfully understand what motivates donors to generously open
their pocketbooks.
Imagine smiles covering the faces of your charity auction
attendees. They opened their pocketbooks a bit wider than they had
planned this year. And yet, they were pleased to attend an elegant
event without the need to jostle against other attendees, circle
back to auction tables to check bid status or abandon their bids
all together.
Hand-in-hand Lisa enters the charity ball with her husband Mike.
She looks forward to an elegant evening. Yet the thought of
competing at bid tables dampens her spirits.
Her eyebrows lift as she receives a small electronic keypad. She
concludes that this year’s silent auction will certainly be
different with an IML audience response device in hand to simplify
her bidding.
She greets her colleague David who, as Lisa sips her drink,
observes someone outbidding him for this season’s football tickets.
Competitive nature taking hold, he presses a few buttons on his
keypad to increase his bid by $50.
Lisa congratulates him for his display of quick bidding. Confident
that David will walk away from this year’s event with his football
tickets, Lisa inspects the bidding tables.
A beautiful pearl necklace whispers her name. However, a Caribbean
cruise speaks even louder. She knows that this would be a perfect
25th wedding anniversary present for Mike.
Bidding starts at $2,000. Her IML Audience Response keypad displays
a current bid of $2,025. She enters her bid of $2,075 within
seconds.
After diner, she suspends enjoying her Tiramisu, when her tablemate
Alison looks up from her IML bidding device and exclaims that a day
at the spa is hers! Lisa congratulates her and checks her own bid
to ensure that she is still in the running for the cruise.
Her heart beats faster. Her IML device tells her someone is
outbidding her for the cruise. The IML screen indicates she has
mere moments before cruise bidding closes. Determined to be
celebrating her 25th anniversary on the beach, she increases her
bid by $400.
As bidding closes, an announcer expresses gratitude to this year’s
attendees. He also proclaims that this year’s charitable auction
successfully raised 30 percent more donations than last year.
Not hard to believe, Lisa smiles.
As she gathers her coat, she proudly returns her IML device.
Knowing that she and her husband Mike will be enjoying 25th
anniversary champagne on the beach in November is a wonderful bonus
for generously donating to a very noble cause.
